Here's another illustration for Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, yes. I don't know how to draw antlers, no.

I wrote 2 other songs and recorded 'em over the break, but, alas, I fear they're not as high-quality as my higher-quality-ish stuff, bleh. It sucks balls to have a dead artform, to have an artform inside you die, die, die. It's fine if it goes into hybernation for a while, that's all well and good, but how long'll it last? Will it ever go away, this poopy rut that I'm stuck in? It's been since about October and it sucks balls, man. It just plain old sucks balls, poopy-poopy-ones, man. I know what you're thinking...but it's always gone away in the past! Yes, indeed, I say. But what if this is the final writers block and there'll be no more good music till I'm all dead and stuff (then I'll be all dead and stuff, and it's hard to write music then). I think o' people like David Byrne, you know. The dude used to be brilliant-and-a-half, and now his music's fairly dead. Every once in a while he squeezes out something that's got maybe a teeny tiny bit of life in it, but for the most part, he's an old fart resting on his laurels. At least if I become an old fart, I won't rest on my laurels, cuz I gots too much shame for that, ha ha ha. I'll just chalk it up to the poopy-ness of a universe that gives you nice things and then sez "you can't have that anymore." Well, fuck you, universe!

Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs

Yay, my band did a recording over the break, and that's a nice thing. There's an earlier version o' this song on this here blog, but here's the band version, the official version, the latest version, the one we'll eventually put on CD's and the like. Yesiree.

Rockin' Christmas Eve

Okay, this is my newest recordin' (a couple weeks old). It's a poopypoopymix poopy mix! Blehhhhhhh! This mix gives me great shame, but I'll stick it on here anyway. Heh.

Download What use

I'm not sure what to call this song cuz it could be called What Use or What Good or A Bigger Infinity. I was trying to go for the '80's keyboard sound, I guess. It's not a type of '80's keyboard you woulda heard on the radio in the '80's, though, cuz the keyboard I used is the kind that parents bought little kids of Christmas back in the '80's. Little kids who took piano lessons and thought they could sound real rockin' with a nice Casio keyboard, bought at Gemco (which was bought by Target).

Fartknockers

Shoot, man, I forgot to bring a little disky drivey thing to upload a song with, poop poop poop. My brain was too frozen this morning. Man, my car said it was "37 degrees" outside, and I'm like, dude. This is supposed to be LA or something. LA's the land o' sandles and shorts, and I was freezing cuz I didn't have no gloves or scarves or anything. Bleh. It's cold everywhere. It's cold in the Northwest and cold all over California and cold in Las Vegas, too. It's a new ice age. Oh, man how boring is this? I'm talking about the weather!

100th Post

Ah-hah! I feel so advanced cuz I learned how to convert AIFF files into MP3 files on this here work computer (instead of working). I have, on this here Traveldrive, many, many songs I recorded about, letsee here, 11 years ago (man, I'm old) that I'd converted over from cassette tape about a year ago.

This one:

Star trek song is from a time period in my life, long, long ago, when I had a boyfriend who really had a thing for thumb-pianos. And he liked to use a pie plate as percussion. We did a bunch of recordings where we recorded ourselves improvising stuff for long periods o' time, yes indeedy. If you guys are fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation, this song's about an episode, is it called "The Chase?" It's one where Picard's old mentor, this old-fart archaeology professor comes to the enterprise, and there's all this stuff that happens, and you find out why all the aliens on Star Trek look like humans. Yeah. Nice to be posting songs again, even if I'm not writin' 'em. Please excuse the improvisational nature o' this one, ha ha ha.

Poopishness

Here's my plan; over the break (which starts the 24th for me), I'm gonna buy a really gigantically huge thumb-drive so i can transfer my AIFF music files onto it, thus enabling me to clear some space offa my computer (and concurrently convert those files into MP3 files, which take up a lot less space on my hard drive). I'm down to 2.sometthing GB on my poor computer and it's all slow and funny, so I'm afraid of creating any additional MP3 files without also clearing space offa the hard drive. (thus I have no new MP3 files to share with you folks). I'm feeling so dumb, lazy, and retarded about not keeping up with this blog. It's a combination of this intense internship year and not having enuff hard drive space on my computer. Although I shouldn't make excuses cuz that's dumb. I actually do have a new-ish recording but I left the disk thingy at home and it's a really bad mix. I'm ashamed of the badness of the mix. But maybe I'll bring it in soon-ish and share it with you guys anyway. I'm lame. I'm lame-o. Lame-ass.
Strange, too, cuz I'm completely dead, music-composition-wise. Sometimes those periods of deadness precede periods of amazing creativity, but other times, they last a year. I hope this one goes away soon-ish, cuz I'd like to do more songs, and the like-poops. Blather, blather, blather.

Here're my winner Icons

It's funny how a little-bit-of-a-letdown it can be when you win Nanowrimo. Maybe that's how most goal-like things are when you get to them. It's cool. I ain't finished writin' the book yet, thoughgh, so I've reached the 50,000 word mark, which is cool, but I still am in the middle o' the story. For all of you who have no idea what i'm talking about, just go to www.nanowrimo.org, cuz then you'll know what the hell I'm talking about.
I've been too lazy and dumb to create new MP3 files o' old songs, partly cuz my computer's so clogged up with songfiles that i'm afraid to clog it up any more. I must find me a solution. I know what the solution is, but i'm too lazy to implement it. I miss the days before I had a hairy, hectic, crazy ass job that kept me from doing anything fun, but then again, it's nice to have $, too. I'll probly do some more recording next weekend, so stay tuned. Really. I mean it!

Balding

Yeah, man, I'll have 2 figure out what 2 post this week, man. I wrote the Tom song in December, 2007, but at the time I recorded it, the vocals sounded poopy. I like the vocals in this one. Poor Tom, cuz I still need to tell him he's Balding. I know he's Balding, but in the book, he hasn't really talked about how he's Balding (not sure why I'm capitalizing it). Balding would be a funny name.

This is gettin' ridiculous

Download latimes_and_tom.mp3

I need 2 stick something in here, so here's something I recorded a couple weeks ago. It's 2 songs stuck together (I keep typing "snogs") for no particular reason, other than that they sounded nice having one lead into the other. The 2nd one's about a character from my most recent novel. The novel has a happy ending, so don't worry about poor old Tom. He'll be just fine.

Old, Dead, Dried-Up, Moldy, Moldy, Moldy.

Awh, man, I've started recording two songs in two weekends, but don't really feel good enough about them to even finish them. I realized it's time 2 take a li'l break from song-writin' for a while, cuz I keeps on writing stuff with the same ole chord progressions over and over, and my lyrics are all dry and exhausted and old like moldy toast. All that really means, in terms o' this blog, is that I gotta dig up older recordin's and make 'em into MP3's. I have enuff to last a good long time. But, I'm lazy, so I gotta get the motivation up to do it. It would be nice 4 folks to get a chance to hear some o' what I usedta sound like. Probly not too much different from how I sound now. I dunno if I'll use any o' the recordin's with my ex-boyfriend playin' drums on them. I'll have to think about it.
