I Love You and I Love You a Lot

This song came to me in a dream. In light of recent events here in the US, I decided to make it into a song about bein' sure to say "I love you" to someone, in case it's the last time you see them.

Yes, the past couple weeks have been freaky and awful. I know, statistically speaking, it's not very likely that I'll run into terrorists and crap, but I'm spooked, nonetheless. I'm also sad, frustrated, angry, and a whole host of other feelings.

And, I'm realizing this world needs a lot more "I Love You"s, in general. I think we all need some "I Love You"s, so here're some "I Love You"s for you.

Anyway, I play around with that "143" thing of Mister Rogers'. He sez 143 is code for "I Love You" cuz "I" has 1 letter, "love" has 4 letters, and "you" has 3 letters. There's a freeway around here called The 134. If you just turn 2 of the numbers around, you end up with the "I Love You" freeway.

The lyrics are:
I love you and I love you a lot

I don't know if I'll see you again, so I'll say “I love you” now
I think that I will see you again, but this is for good measure

I love you and I love you a lot

One forty three is a good number – it is the freeway of love for
Goodness sake I won't stop saying “I love you” cuz it's a great thing

I wanted you to know...that I do love you so

One forty three is Mister Rogers' code for
Saying “I love you” - gee whiz – I wish we all showed more
Ever lovin' love. In the sky above
I see a white dove singing pure, sweet love

She's Giving Us a Weird Expression

She's Giving Us a Weird Expression - Second Version

This is the next song in the possession album; Timmy, Bobby, and Father O'Malley see the girl looking weirded out.

There're 2 versions of it...this was smack dab in the middle of the worst of my struggles with my voice being all fucked up and as a result, I don't really like either version. But I think the top one is better than the bottom one, even though I did the bottom one, thinking it would improve on the top one. In any event, I think the song's okay enough, so maybe someday I'll redo it at some point, so the singing doesn't sound shitty.

The lyrics are:

We are sitting down, and we're gonna smoke some weed

Then we see her frown - is there something that she needs?

She's holding the bong, and she's holding the lighter

Is there something wrong? What's going on inside her?

She's giving us a weird expression, She's giving us a weird expression, She's giving us a weird expression - now, right now

She looks like she's seen a ghost from her expression

Is it something from her previous possession

And she looks like she needs to make a confession

Or it might be she needs a therapy session

She's giving us a weird expression, She's giving us a weird expression, She's giving us a weird expression - now, right now

She is looking at the lighter that she's holding

And she looks like some serious shit's unfolding

We'll listen with a measure of apprehension

Is this something that's beyond all comprehension?

Now we realize that she has her eyes on the lighter's light

Is it something frightening?

It might be a shade - should we be afraid?

What is in the flame?

Does it have a name?

Is there a spirit that she is seeing?

No, we don't mean booze - is it a being?

Maybe it is a specter or shade in the lighter's light

Is she afraid

She's giving us a weird expression, She's giving us a weird expression, She's giving us a weird expression - now, right now

I did a second version of this song, but it sucks. Here it is, though. It sucks.

The World Feels Different

The World Feels Different

This is a really short song. I might someday make it into a longer song. The world feels different both on a personal level this week and on a more global level as well. Maybe someday we won't have weeks like this anymore.

It's Time to Smoke a Bong

Here's a slightly better mix:

It's Time to Smoke a Bong - Mix 2

 Here's the original mix:

It's Time to Smoke a Bong

This is the next song in the possession album; they're all smoking a bong, and the girl is weirded out...there's something weirdly uncanny-looking about the flame of the lighter she is using to light the bong.

The lyrics are:

It's time to smoke a bong; it's time to smoke a bong

Passing it around – I notice something peculiar
I guess I found something in this is familiar

It's time to smoke a bong; it's time to smoke a bong

I cannot place … my finger on what this might be
It's uncanny... but I'll say it is not frightening

The flame from the lighter's mighty bright; I have delight despite the
Strangeness that my eyesight alights on and I think I might just
Try to relax cuz Timmy and Bobby and Father O'Malley are here
It is a fact they have my back and I have theirs; that much is clear
There's something uncanny 'bout this flame, and it's something that I cannot name
It is so weird; I think it's clear...that I should have another beer

It's time to smoke a bong; it's time to smoke a bong

Here's the alternative little player thingy in case the one up top isn't to your liking:

Here's a remix of this song cuz the vocals were too low in the mix.

Something Is Wrong With My Voice - My Music Sucks

This song came to me in a dream - it's spot-on.

Timmy and Bobby's House

Timmy and Bobby's House

This is the next song in the possession album. They're all at Timmy and Bobby's house and are gonna smoke pot and drink beer. There's something really nice and homey about Timmy and Bobby's house.

The lyrics are:

Timmy and Bobby's house; Timmy and Bobby's house
We are glad to be back here

We can smoke a lot of pot and drink beer, and have a good time cuz we're here
At Timmy and Bobby's house tonight

Discombobulated, we were disorganized in our thinking
But at Bobby's and Timmy's place, it's more better cuz we're drinking
It is time to smoke some pot, then we'll be back to normal
Taking sublime tokes makes our thoughts the opposite of bored, y'all

Timmy and Bobby's place...puts a smile on our face
We are glad to be back here

They have a good beer selection; it is very nearly perfection
At Timmy and Bobby's house tonight

Timmy and Bobby had a nice thing to say
They always know how to make it a sunny day

Timmy and Bobby's house; Timmy and Bobby's house
We are glad to be back here
Back here....

Here's the other little player thingy, in case you like it better than the one up top:

The Old Times

This is the song where Grandma and Grandpa give us a piece of their minds and tell us about how the old times were better than now in certain ways.

The lyrics are:
I'm grandma
I'm grandpa
We have a lot to say about the old times

We thought cassette tapes would never go out of style
Same with computer disks and paper files

The old times, the old times, the old times
Are always in our hearts

A thousand years into the future, I think
People will wonder what the fuck we were thinking
Making things more complicated
It is real stupid and it makes us scratch our heads

The old times, the old times, the old times
Are always in our hearts

Back in the day, people helped each other out
And we can say this is something that we will shout:
"C'mon, people, help each other out, and you will be
A thousand million quadrillion times more happy!"

The old times, the old times, the old times
Are always in our hearts

Here's the other little player thingy!

Supreme Court, Supreme Court: Many Women Will Die

Supreme Court...Many Women Will Die

Here's a song about the piece-of-shit supreme poopy court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. What's next to go? Gay marriage? Being able to marry someone of another race? Don't be surprised when all this happens and much more. We're headed toward being in an oppressive regime. Or maybe we're already in one.

I know this song sounds a bit over-dramatic, but when you think about it, the level of drama fits the situation. Many women are going to die - women who live in states where abortion is banned or hard to get and don't have the money or resources to go to another state will turn to the Coat Hanger Solution. Maybe they can't afford to have a kid or just plain don't want to have one; maybe they have health problems that make a pregnancy lethal to them; or maybe they're women who were raped and don't want to carry their rapist's child - many of them will turn to The Coat Hanger Solution. How many women will die because of this supreme court decision? Hundreds? Thousands?

Congratulations, Supreme Court. You've just murdered lots of women. You have LITERALLY just murdered lots of women.

The lyrics are:

This is a song about overturning Roe v. Wade
I'll lay it out for you: I'm very much afraid
Now that they've overturned...Roe v. Wade, my fucking uterus is property of the state
Do I have to spell it out? Do I have to make it clear?
Botched abortions are the future of this country, I fear

Supreme court, Supreme Court, many women will die

Everyone, Stay Close

Everyone Stay Close

This is the next song in the possession album. Everyone gets home again, and they all talk about the importance of staying close, especially, given what the bears told them about how scary the world is about to get.

The lyrics are:

Everyone stay close; everyone stay clo-o-o-o-ose

...we...need...to...stay...close..to..each...oth...er...be...cause...we...need...each...oth...er

Pretty soon, we will be back home again
I feel blue, and I know I'll need a friend
Because of what the bears told us today
About the state of the world; it is craz-
y; is it heading for apocalypse?
I see that the world might be a sinking ship
So it is better to stick together
Cuz we're headed toward ship wreck-worthy weather

Everyone stay close; everyone stay clo-o-o-o-ose

How many words rhyme with "apocalypse?"
And it feels absurd to have it on my lips
Nevertheless, it is on people's minds
and it is distressing; this might be End Times
That is why we use a buddy system
If I die, I will be with my good friends
Or maybe, we will fight the fucked-up-ness
We will see; that would be better than death

Everyone stay close; everyone stay clo-o-o-o-ose

Timmy and Bobby and Father O'Malley are without a single doubt my good pals
It is good to have a couple good friends / We'll stick together right up to the end
And I see we are getting close to home / where we're free to smoke a bowl and get stoned
I am glad, I guess, that we are back home / we have had a weird time, so let's get stoned

I Duno Why I'm So Fucked Up

This is another song about my dumb writer's block and on top of that it's a song about how crappy my voice continues to sound, as if I'm having a constant fucking allergy attack. And then I threw in a part about the abominable, horrid supreme court decision.

On that note...I’m tryin’ to put the feelings of dehumanization I get from the Supreme Court decision into words. Here’s what I came up with: One day, I went to bed, a regular, plain-old American citizen with all the rights afforded plain-old, ordinary American citizens. The next day, I woke up to find that my uterus is property of the state. It’s a truly icky feeling.
I mean, I live in California, where things should be expected to stay the same as they were, but that doesn’t erase the icky feelings of dehumanization I and over half of the population are experiencing these days.
