We're Short on Time

CLOCKOUT

This is the next song in the new Timmy and Bobby album. It keeps on continuing with the theme of them trying to save me. They're tryin' to save me, but they're scared that they're runnin' outta time. I got the hook from a dream, and I'm mad-scared that I might've accidentally plagiarized someone else's song. I hope I didn't, but if I did, I'd like to say to whomever I plagiarized: "Whoops, sorry about that!"

Actually, the hook is a variation of the Westminster Chimes theme. And there's an actual clock that I sampled, doin' the Westminster Chimes. It's one of those musical experiments of combining genres...in this case, my weird version of hip hop, with a 2-step bass line, and with the clock song. Or, y'know, Westminster Chimes, and all that.

The lyrics are:
The clocks wind down; what can we do?
Try not to frown; it’s nothing new

I’m sitting here and I’m bored, looking toward…
I want to see my friends, but I do not know where they are
We’re shitting fear and we’re gored, we should afford
The fun, good things…I tend to cry, “Oh, dear Lord, where’s my car?”
I’m running out of time and I do not know where to go
The sun is listening to chimes and it’s Poe with a crow
Timmy and Bobby want to see me get well, they want to
They want to see me go to Heaven, not Hel, they hum a tune

We see the sun, it does not shine
And it’s not fun; we’re out of time

Timmy and Bobby say that we’re running on fumes
And we can try to pray so we will not be doomed
And the time’s getting short, and we’re feeling the gloom
Do not mission-abort when the flowers might bloom
Timmy and Bobby are nice; in the land of clocks, we roll the dice
Timmy and Bobby say it’s true, there are things that we can still do

And they are kind, but yes it’s true
We’re short on time, what can we do?

We see that the sun does not shine,
and we feel like we are blind and it’s feeling unkind
We agree it’s not fun, it’s not kind,
and we are feeling the time run out, the clocks will unwind
Timmy and Bobby say it’s best; in the land of clocks we will not rest
Timmy and Bobby say we must do the thing that wil make everything just

I’m running out of time

We see the sun, it does not shine
And it’s not fun; There’s no more time

Timmy and Bobby say that we’re running on fumes
And we can try to pray so we will not be doomed
And the time’s getting short, and we’re feeling the gloom
Do not mission-abort when the flowers might bloom

Climbed Up

CLIMBDUP

Meanwhile, the teachers have gone missing - no one in the town can find them. (See below, if you're unfamiliar with this project.) See, after their brains had turned into nature-brains, people kind of stopped paying attention to them because all they did was act weird. But, then, after a time of disregarding the teachers, everybody realizes they're gone. No one knows how long they've been missing cuz it's hard to notice something go missing if one isn't paying attention to it, in the first place.

Everyone grows concerned...then one day, the girl, her friend, and Bob are working at the gas station, and they see the teachers climbing up the nearby mountain. That's the mountain that was talking to the teachers when they got nature-brains. Now the teachers and the mountain are all happy because the teachers are with their new friend, the mountain; and the mountain is with its new friends, the teachers.

This is what last week's song sounds like, if you play it backwards.

The lyrics are:
Wait, we have found them / They climbed the mountain
The town could not find them / They made no sound, they were climbing

We see it from the station / underneath the sky of blue
The teachers jubilation /  singing in the purple dew

They had gone missing / wait, we had it wrong, listen:
They climbed the mountain / yay, we have found them

They went up to the mountain / Now they’re with their friend
Their eyes sing like a fountain / in a life that never ends

They climbed the stairway up there
To find their friend cuz they care
They are no longer mean, they care and their minds are clean
Bringing things it longs, singing ringing songs
The mountain is singing cuz it has some friends
The found-friends are bringing the things Heaven sent
We saw them climb up there, singing up Heaven’s stair
There they will stay, the rest of their days

We see it from the station / underneath the sky of blue
The teachers jubilation /  singing in the purple dew
They went up to the mountain / Now they’re with their friend
Their eyes sing like a fountain / in a life that never ends

One day, I started writing a song about a fucked up school. Then, a few days later, that lawsuit came out, involving those pervy professors in the Dartmouth Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. I was all, oh, my stars!!! That’s where I got my Ph.D.! Then I finished writing the song about a week later. I thought it was just a song about how the school system fucks up kids, but after I finished writing and recording it, I realized parts of it were about my experiences in that poopy psych department (the unconscious mind works in mysterious ways). In any event, I decided to write an album about a fucked up school in order to process my experiences of having been in that department and how the culture there impacted me. This album ain’t necessarily about Dartmouth, per se. It’s more of a weird, inner exploration where I’m, like, having a fucked up dialogue with my unconscious about my experiences at Dartmouth. Jung used to call that kind of stuff “active imagination.” So far, this album follows the story of a girl, whose guardian angels try to protect her, but often can't find her. The angels at some point decide that they have to protect the girl from those nasty teachers and start to plot against them. But then they realize they don’t want to actually harm the teachers, so they, instead, make the teachers’ brains into nature brains ™, which are basically brains that hear communications coming from nature spirits. The angels do this because they think it’ll give those teachers more empathy, and will, in turn, be nice to the students.  After the teachers receive those nature brains, they go crazy because a mountain starts speaking to them, and the numinosity of that experience is too much for them to handle. As graduation approaches, the girl and her friend get more and more nervous about not having a job afterwards, so they turn to beer to help them cope with their anxiety. In the meantime, the guardian angels locate a man, named Bob, who owns a gas station and can give the girl a job. Then Bob, who is really nice, gives the girl and her friend jobs.

Timmy and Bobby Song #2

TIMANB0B
Dang, since I posted the school album ahead of time and set it on a timer, what happened was, a new idear for a new album came up, and now I'm startin' to post the new album. It's an album about Timmy and Bobby. I'll say more about it later - I'm a bit squeezed for time at the moment. But yeah, it's rather unorthodox o' me to be posting songs from 2 different albums in the same week.

This one has lots o' themes that I've repeated over the years cuz it's a song that starts to introduce the characters in the album. That's one o' those things I tend to do, is have repeating themes repeat themselves over and over in the introductory material of albums. It's like, here's a new album, I'll introduce it with those themes that are super important to me to highlight the importance of the introductory material of the album.

If you were around in 2009, you might already be acquainted with Timmy and Bobby cuz I did a collection of songs about Timmy and Bobby back then. But I didn't know what they looked like back then. It wasn’t till 2011 that they showed up and told me what they look like; that’s when they incorporated themselves into my graphic novels (the 2nd verse speaks to that).

In any event, the lyrics are:
Heaven's been sent, just 'round the bend
See them again, they are my friends

Timmy and Bobby

They told me when I'd see them again
We'll be singing in pen, and inking with friends

Timmy and Bobby

Timmy and Bobby said butter is best
It is better butter better butter better than best
Timmy and Bobby said they will not rest
Till they get the bitter better butter offa their chest
Timmy and Bobby said Heaven is near
Dimmer and sobbing, but then we have beer
We are not losing the thing we have sent
We are sots boozing, to sing: "Heaven's bent!"

Growing through cracks: It's the song of the plants
They said they're back to get me on track

Timmy and Bobby

Timmy and Bobby had a nice thing to say

If I try to go there, can I go to Heaven, go to Heaven? If I try to go there when I die?

I have ears that don't stop ringing; my mind is broken, but I can't stop singing
I'm blind and stupid, but I'm learning: The world is turning but it won't stop burning

When my name is nothing more than a momentary pause in the words next door...
Hey, hey, trouble shares my name with you

I Feel Stupid/And They Pray to Get Me Back Into Heaven

Okay, wow, I'm gonna post another non-school-related song just for kicks. This one requires a bit o' 'splainin'.

See, Timmy and Bobby are these guys who showed up in a song in 2004, when I smoked a bunch of pot and was making up songs all by myself. Good old Timmy and Bobby showed up, and over the years, I've recorded lots of songs with Timmy and Bobby in them.

Yeah, Timmy and Bobby are good buddies of mine, they are. They're friends o' mine, who live in the spirit world, and all that. (Or at least, that's my take on things). Then, one day, they decided to show me what they look like, and as a result, they became characters in the graphic novels I work on.

In this song, Timmy and Bobby are attempting to pray me into Heaven, in the sense that the health issues I've been dealing with have made me go to Hell in real life. They're tryin' to get me back into Heaven, which is just plain synonymous with getting back to normal. Y'know, getting back to a regular life.

The picture, above, is an excerpt from a comic book I'm working on, where I'm one of the characters (on the right), and Jesus and Chief Running Dog are accompanying on my journey through Hell. And, like, we're reminiscing about Timmy and Bobby and how much we miss them.

And, since this weekend has Easter Sunday in it, I decided to make the song have some Easter-themed stuff in it, too.

It's one o' those songs where I cain't decide whether to rap fast or slow cuz the beat is one of those tempos where I end up rapping either really slow or really fast. So, you might wanna take a look at the lyrics cuz I sorta trip over my tongue during the fast-rapping parts. Heh.

The lyrics are:
Timmy and Bobby say it's best
In the land of God, we pray with zest
They say that Heaven is not far
They pray to get there in their car
We know that Sunday is coming real soon
See, though, the fun day is stunning the moon
Easter is feaster, and better than best
We stir the beaster and get there with zest

Their song is tied up with nothing but sense

I feel stupid

And they pray to get me back into Heaven

I feel stupid

Timmy and Bobby say they are my friends
On a whim, we stop and pray Heaven will be sent

I feel stupid

And they pray to get me back into Heaven

I feel stupid

Timmy and Bobby say Heaven is fine
Gimme the bread, hey, unleavened and wine
Jesus is waiting to see we are here
Chester, Fred Rogers, and now we have beer

And they pray to get me back into Heaven

I feel stupid

We Have A Job

We have a job mix 2

In this song, the girl is looking for jobs and finds the help-wanted sign at Bob's gas station. (See below, if you're unfamiliar with this project.) Not only does she get a job, working there for Bob, but Bob also offers one to her friend (and he takes it). Now they're really happy cuz 1. they're no longer at that fucked up school, 2. they have jobs, and 3. Bob is a real nice boss.

This is what last week's song sounds like if you play it backwards:

The lyrics are:
I want a job right now, but I do not know how
They didn’t teach us the / way to get one
And all is said and done, we’ve graduated from
A school that made us dumb, what the fuck is to come

Then I saw the sign, / it’s saying / now they’re hiring / (so) I’m inquiring
He seems really nice / he owns the … gas station / and he seems patient

He said he’s hiring twice / d’ya have a friend who’s nice?
I said, indeed, I do / I’ll tell him all about you
My mind’s no longer blue / I can’t believe it’s true
I got a job to do / my friend’ll be there, too

And now we’re here, working at a job
And we don’t have no more fear, now we work for Bob
He is nice, we have seen, he has never gotten mean
We eat rice, and some beans, in the lunchroom that is clean
And we pump the gas inside the station, we are getting good
We’re not stumped, no more class, there’s a paycheck, we can buy some food
No more school, we don’t have any more class
It is cool now we are friendly with gas

One day, I started writing a song about a fucked up school. Then, a few days later, that lawsuit came out, involving those pervy professors in the Dartmouth Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. I was all, oh, my stars!!! That’s where I got my Ph.D.! Then I finished writing the song about a week later. Backwards Song About A Job / Son Of Scotland

BACKAJ0B
This backwards song sounds, to me, like depressing TV music from the 1970s. And it's got a line about being a Son of Scotland in it.
