When There's No One Around

I did 2 mixes of this here song; I think the top one might be better cuz the bottom one is the distorto mix. Dang. But I included both, just in case the top one sucks.

NO1AR0UN

This song has a weird, abstract theme to it.  It's about how, if you're all by yourself, you're not distracted by other people.  You're not distracted by their presences or voices or any of that. If you're alone long enough, and all the voices get quiet, including the ones in your own head, do you start to merge with your environment?

Maybe people're already merged with their environments and they don't know it. You can't have a figure without a ground.

I use the example of an earthquake in the rapping part because tomorrow's the anniversary of the medium sized earthquake we had a year ago, and the day-after-tomorrow is the anniversary of the big earthquake we had a year ago. In this example, I'm riffing on the idea that, when there's an earthquake, it's not just the tectonic plates shaking. An earthquake is more than just the tectonic plates shaking. It's also the buildings swaying, the dogs barking before it happens, the scared people running around, the people standing in doorways, and the doorways, themselves. Why would I say that?

It's cuz if there was an earthquake in the middle of nowhere, where there were no buildings or people, it'd be a completely different event than if it was in an urban area. It would just be some shaking. The cacti and birds would forget about it shortly thereafter, even if it was a real big one. But if the same, big earthquake hit a big city, it'd be an entirely different event. There'd be lots of scared people, buildings swaying, and probably actual damage and stuff. They'd be different earthquakes, altogether. So, I'm toying with the idear that, as a result of being in a  big earthquake a year ago, I WAS the earthquake. So, there.

The lyrics are:
Timmy says that we might bleed into Heaven's singing trees
Bobby says when you're alone, singing comes from Heaven's phones

When there's no one around

Ancestors are singing with songs that give you Heaven's lift:
Ringing chimes when you're alone, singing rhymes that talk to stones

When there's no one around

When there's no one around, I can start to see what it is to bleed into things
I am both the figure and ground, the scenery, I become the trees singing rings
When the Earthquake, it shakes, I become the thing it makes
It's the birthday, with cakes, what the fuck? Oh goodness sakes.
If there's scared people in it, it's a different kind of beast
Than when nobody notices or cares that it has ceased

Melting into pools of time, singing songs with Heaven's rhyme
When you find that you're alone, you will climb to Heaven's throne

When there's no one around

Here's a 3rd mix: (They probly all suck):
