Once Upon a Past Life

Once upon a past life

This is the next song in the possession album. The girl, who's possessed by the fire god tells Timmy, Bobby, and Father O'Malley about an insight she just got: She starts by telling them she was a witch in a past life. That's where we're at so far. Stay tuned for what happened to her in the past life. Yesiree.

The lyrics are:
There's something I have to tell you about
And it might feel like there is a big cloud
Raining on top of what used to be a
Bright, care-free, bird-singing, sun-shiny day

Once upon a past life
I was a person who had
Magic inside of her hat

I had some witchy ways
With my magic I could blaze
Spells as hot as summer days

I had more joy than you could imagine
But, well, oh boy, it was not long-lasting
I'll tell you what subsequently happened
How about I say it in a rap, friends?

Once upon a past life
I was a person who had
Magic inside of her hat

I had some witchy ways
With my magic I could blaze
Spells as hot as summer days

Man's inhumanity is something I have seen
It's a calamity that falls on stranger beings
People, like me, have had it in the days of old
Something that's chilling, and it makes my skin turn cold
It is a religious thing, and as sure as clocks will ring
With a flame, in the name of their god this fire will sing
Do I put it into words that you will understand?
And these words, they will hurt, when they finally come to land

It is real hard to put it into words
I'll sing like a bard, or maybe a song-bird
If I sing or rap about this bad thing
It might go down easier with sad sing-ing

Once upon a past life
I was a person who had
Magic inside of her hat

I had some witchy ways
With my magic I could blaze
Spells as hot as summer days

Here's the alternative player thingy, just in case the one up at the top doesn't work on your portable electronic device (note: This is a slightly different mix than the one up top):
