This is another song I got from a dream. Death has been on my mind this week, so I made this song from the point of view of a person missing someone who has passed, who sees a bunch of rainbows in the sky. Some say rainbows are a sign of communication from the spirit world, so the narrator of the song interprets them to be that.
Oh yeah, the yellow butterfly part is a true story; butterflies are big-time signifiers of communication with those who've passed. One day, I was thinking of someone who'd died a few years back, and I was missing them a lot. Suddenly, a big old yellow butterfly fluttered around my head and flew up into the sky. I took that to be a sign.
The lyrics are:
And I'm wondering why
Rainbows filled up the sky
In the clouds up above
Painting ceilings with love
The raindrops are tears that fall from my eyes
And rainbows fill up the heavenly skies
And I'm wondering why
Rainbows filled up the sky
In the clouds up above
Painting ceilings with love
The mothers and fathers, grandparents, too
And brothers, and sisters, they all miss you
Once I saw a yellow butterfly
And it flew into the ceiling of the sky
Is this a sign that you are doing fine?
Up above the earth? These words sound so divine
The butterflies, and rainbows, and a dove
Are the messengers who send a bunch of love
And I miss you every single blessed day
But I know it's true: Your love won't go away
And I'm wondering why
Rainbows filled up the sky
In the clouds up above
Painting ceilings with love
I will not stop looking into the sky
With tear drops that won't stop filling my eyes
And it flew into the ceiling of the sky
Is this a sign that you are doing fine?
Up above the earth? These words sound so divine
The butterflies, and rainbows, and a dove
Are the messengers who send a bunch of love
And I miss you every single blessed day
But I know it's true: Your love won't go away
And I'm wondering why
Rainbows filled up the sky
In the clouds up above
Painting ceilings with love
I will not stop looking into the sky
With tear drops that won't stop filling my eyes
Here's the alternative player thingy, like usual:
