Bobby's Infinity

Here's the song I did some demos of earlier...it's about a guy who is all stoned and comes face to face with infinity. There's a realllllyyyyyy ssssslllllloowwwwwww rap in the middle that's intended to simulate the experience of time feeling like it's slowed down when one is stoned.

As a side-note, it's really good to have a cat who talks a lot because she makes for good samples. That's the weird animal-sounding echoey voice in there - a sample of my kitty meowing, put thru weird effects and pitch changes and things.

The lyrics are:

Bobby's Infinity

Bobby smoked a ton of weed
And his brain said, “Yes, indeed”

Bobby's Infinity

Bobby smoked a ton of grass
And it knocked him on his ass

Bobby's infinity

Makes him remember all of his dreams
It has affinity
For the cotton candy that sings
And through space, his mind took flight
Faster than the speed of light
The universe became an equation
Yes, that's for sure, it's no exaggeration

Bobby's Infinity

Bobby smoked a ton of pot
And he liked it quit a lot

The Cat With The Grumpy Eyes

Cat with the Grumpy Eyes

This is a song came to me in a dream; it's about the kitty cat in the box in the picture. She looks grumpy a lot of the time in pictures, but I think that's just how she looks, in general. Like, she's not always grumpy, but she looks grumpy a lot of the time. That's what this song is about.

Oh, yeah, she doesn't catch rats or mice in real life; but she catches moths and flies.

The lyrics are:

The following aspects of the cat with the grumpy eyes

I have a kitty cat, who is nice
But when you look at her, she grumpy eyes

The following aspects of the cat with the grumpy eyes

What are the aspects of the cat with the grumpy eyes?
I'd imagine that she is very wise
And she is smart and has a really good heart
She's a world apart from things that make me fart

I like my kitty cat, she is nice
She catches lots of rats and lots of yucky mice

The following aspects of the cat with the grumpy eyes

Bobby's Infinity B Phrase Demo

I came up with a B phrase for the Bobby's Infinity song today and wanted to lay down a track so I wouldn't forget how it goes. My internet is excruciatingly slow today, so I'm not able to upload it onto the one player platform thingy I use, but I was able to upload it onto the other player platform thingy. If it speeds up, I'll get the other player thingy onto here. Yesiree.

Whoops, I spoke too soon - here's the other player thingy:

Bobby's Infinity Demo

Bobby's Infinity Demo

This song came to me today, while I was working on a comic strip about stoned people. Timmy and Bobby are 2 of the stoned people in the comic strip, yesiree. I might do a longer, more polished version of this later.

Here's the alternative player thingy, like usual, just in case the one up above doesn't work when you attempt to play it on your portable electronic device:

I'm Your Grandmother

I'm Your Grandmother

This is the next song in the possession album: the me-character's grandma appeared in the previous song, and it looked like she was about to say something to Timmy, Bobby, me, and Father O'Malley. In this song, you get to hear what she says to them all.

The lyrics are:

I'm your grandmother / I live up above
Sister, and brothers, I come bearing love
I'm a spirit, so / I have perspective that
You guys do not know / so, let's have a chat

Human life is something you won't understand
Until you make it up into Heaven's land
I know it is a suck-fest, and you feel stuck
And you wish you had been blessed with better luck
I can say now that I am a spirit with a clue
Of the lay of the land, and a greater point of view
You wish that you had not been born human cuz it sucks
You are trapped in the thought that you are so very fucked

I'm your grandmother / I live up above
Sister, and brothers, I come bearing love
I'm a spirit, so / I have perspective that
You guys do not know / so, let's have a chat

Right now, you have the perspective of crawling bugs
With no clue of what it's like to be up above
Feeling blue, in the collective of snails and slugs
With no view, you feel like insects, but I'm a dove
I'm a bird, and I fly up above the mountain tops
It sounds absurd, but when you die, you'll have vision that won't stop
Seeing reality and you'll know the fucking deal
Of why we came to be human beings – this is for reals

I am a spirit, and I have a greater view
Cuz I live up above, and now I will tell you:

I can't give you every single detail, though
But you will want to see the rest of the show
I can't tell you everything that's behind the veil
Between life and death, not before you have set sail
For the spirit world that I am now living in
I'll be clear, telling you now would...be a sin
But I can tell you one thing, so listen close
As a spirit who sings with the heavenly host
Being human's upsetting, but in the end
You'll be you again, and get to go home again

I Don't Live In This World

I Don't Live In This World

This song came in a dream last night - or I mean, the A phrase part of it did. It sounded like it was about alienation and not fitting in, and stuff. The metaphors for not fitting in are being an alien or a dandelion in a garden. Or an alien-dandelion.

In any event, I'm not sure if this song sucks or not. Yeah, I'm not sure, at this point. Then again, maybe it'll suck, according to some people, and not suck, according to other people.

Postscript: I decided this song doesn't suck, after all, but I have two things that might be useful bits of information. One: It's one of those songs that sounds better with repeated listenings, and Two: It's a good idear to read the lyrics to the rap part first because there's one part where I say, "A corner of a galaxy," but it sounds a bit like "Acorn er of a galaxy," as in acorn from a tree.

The lyrics are:

I don't live in this world
I don't like this world
It doesn't make sense to me

I'm an alien
I'm an alien
I am an alien; I am an alien
I am an alien living right here

I don't live in this world
I don't like this world
It doesn't make sense to me

I'm a dandelion
Living in the garden
I am a dandelion; I am a dandelion
I am a dandelion living right here

I'm a weed living in a garden
From a seed from a distant star in
A corner of a galaxy that
Lives in the frequency of B flat
I'm a dandelion, that is true
And your Round Up ™ is making me blue
But it won't work because I am from Mars
I am immune, you dummy – I eat stars

I don't live in this world
I don't like this world
It doesn't make sense to me

I'm a dandelion
I'm a dandelion
I'm an alien
I'm an alien

This is a song about how I'm trying to stay hydrated. It's a short one.

Wait, There's Grandma

Here're 2 mixes of this here song - the top one is the quieter mix, and the bottom one is the distorto mix. Whoops. Sorry 'bout all the harmonic distortion in the distorto mix. I'm gonna leave it there, anyway, cuz, well, I dunno why. I'm just gonna leave it there, in general.

Wait - There's Grandma

Wait There's Grandma

Here's  the next song in the possession album. After deciding to go up to the sun, everyone's fixin' to do it, but the girl's grandma's spirit shows up. She looks all worried, and they wonder what she's going to say to them.

The lyrics are:

Are you ready to leave this world forever? But we'll be together, but we'll be together
We'll go up there, and we will be together in the sun forever, in the sun forever
What ever happens, I will always love you, I will always love you, I will always love you

Wait, there's grandma, what'll she say to us? Say to us?
Wait, there's grandma, what'll she say to us? Say to us?

I don't know why she is an apparition, does she have a mission, does she have a mission?
And she's standing with bears and she's aware of something that she's scared of, something that she's scared of

Wait, there's grandma, what'll she say to us? Say to us?
Wait, there's grandma, what'll she say to us? Say to us?

Grandma's looking sad, and she is concerned, and she's showing a touch of stern
She is standing there, and we are aware that she don't want us to get burned
How are we gonna tell her that we are going up to the sun tonight?
Cuz we're done with this human life and we want to fly to the fire god's light
But we can't deny that we might die and this idea might not fly
When we tell it to grandma: She might tell us her worries what we'll fry
What will we tell grandmother if she tells us that she's worried about our fate?
It won't be the kingdom people call Hell; we will be in a fire god state

Here's the alternative player thingy, in case the one up top doesn't work on your portable electronic device:

Here's the original mix, but it came out all dumb and distorted. It's the distorto-mix. The one above has a wee bit o' distortion on it, but it's not as awful as this one:

The Song That's Gonna Come After The Song I'm Just About To Record Today

Grandma's Room Part 2

Here's what's gonna probably be the introductory material of the song after the song I'm just about to record today, which'll go live in a couple weeks (which means the finished version of this one'll go live after that). That's confusing. Anyway, it's probably the beginning part of a song that'll have a beat in it and it'll sound all cool when the beat starts up after this spare part (which includes the sound of my air conditioner in it).

Rainbows Filled Up The Sky

Rainbows Filled Up The Sky

This is another song I got from a dream. Death has been on my mind this week, so I made this song from the point of view of a person missing someone who has passed, who sees a bunch of rainbows in the sky. Some say rainbows are a sign of communication from the spirit world, so the narrator of the song interprets them to be that.

Oh yeah, the yellow butterfly part is a true story; butterflies are big-time signifiers of communication with those who've passed. One day, I was thinking of someone who'd died a few years back, and I was missing them a lot. Suddenly, a big old yellow butterfly fluttered around my head and flew up into the sky. I took that to be a sign.

The lyrics are:
And I'm wondering why
Rainbows filled up the sky
In the clouds up above
Painting ceilings with love

The raindrops are tears that fall from my eyes
And rainbows fill up the heavenly skies

And I'm wondering why
Rainbows filled up the sky
In the clouds up above
Painting ceilings with love

The mothers and fathers, grandparents, too
And brothers, and sisters, they all miss you

Once I saw a yellow butterfly
And it flew into the ceiling of the sky
Is this a sign that you are doing fine?
Up above the earth? These words sound so divine
The butterflies, and rainbows, and a dove
Are the messengers who send a bunch of love
And I miss you every single blessed day
But I know it's true: Your love won't go away

And I'm wondering why
Rainbows filled up the sky
In the clouds up above
Painting ceilings with love

I will not stop looking into the sky
With tear drops that won't stop filling my eyes

Listening Ears/All The Times You've Been Mistreated

Listening Ears

This is another song I got from a dream: It's about how when people have bad stuff happen to them (in this case, being mistreated), they often want to have someone listen to them tell their tales of woe. Does it help to make the pain go away? Or does it just feel good in the moment, with no long-term benefit? It's probably a case-by-case basis, is my thinking.

The lyrics are:

Tell me all the times you've been mistreated

If you tell me about all the things you have experienced in your life
Listening ears
It will probably not make a big difference, but you'll know that all of your strife is
On Listening Ears

Tell me all the times you've been mistreated

If you tell me about all the fucked up things that happened to you that day
Listening ears
It might make you feel better but you should know it won't take the pain away
Listening ears

Tell me all the times you've been mistreated

But I might be all wrong about that and talking to me will make you glad
Listening ears
And, regardless, I'll listen to you because that is the right thing to do
Listening ears

Tell me all the times you've been mistreated

The Fire Gods Call To Me: We Don't Know Just How To Live

The Fire Gods Call To Me We Don't Know Just How To Live

This is the next song in the possession album. It's a reprise of that theme that pops up now and then that I originally got from a dream. All the characters have decided to go the sun and be fire gods and goddesses, but there's a bit o' sadness about the whole thing.

The lyrics are:
The fire gods call to me: Com swim our fiery sea
We don't know just how to live

And we are flying blind, leaving our lives behind
We don't know just how to live

We'll drink our final beer, and shed our crying tears
We don't know just how to live

We'll go up to the sun, and hope it will be fun
We don't know just how to live

We see that it's gone

Will our new living room be a sun spot?
And we'll be missing the times when we smoked pot
But being human is the worst badness
We'll get away from the oceans of sadness

The fire gods call to me: Come swim our fiery sea
We don't know just how to live

That's How They Think The World Used To Be

That's How They Think The World Used To Be

This is another song where the hook came from a dream. It sounded like it was about young people's misconceptions of the way the world was before they were born. In this case, they think there used to be giants. Oh, my.

The lyrics are:

That's how they think the world used to be

Old fashioned living involved heavy lifting...of
Endless old tape decks, so heavy, they break necks

That's how they think the world used to be

Everyone ate gruel that tasted like jet fuel
Topped with potatoes, after which we ate crow

That's how they think the world used to be

Kids, these days, have an idea
And they say life was a sea of
Stupid things that made life harder
If they lived then they'd be martyrs
They said that giants were among us
They were not nice, and they grew fungus
So they could poison our dumb asses
That's what they said they learned in classes
I said, wait, what, did you say giants?
They said, “no, duh,” and they had tridents
I said did you mean the baseball team?
They said, no, they were big men, who were mean

Giants were dwelling, in fires, with flames swelling
Hotter than a furnace, with thoughts that could burn us

That's how they think the world used to be

Smoke A Giant Bowl

Smoke A Giant Bowl

I've been meaning to write this song for a while...sometimes when I write a new song, I think to myself, yeah, that's okay. Nuthin' to write home about. Then I smoke some pot, and the music sounds like Heavenly wonderfulness. That raises the question...is my music stoner-music? Or do all songs sound better to the common listener after smoking a bowl than not after smoking a bowl?

The lyrics are:

This music is written for stoners
And you might listen to it stoned
But you might still think that it sucks
And I will owe you a hundred bucks

Maybe all music
Sounds the best when you
Smoke a giant bowl
Smoke a giant bowl

After I took a gigantic toke
This music shook my soul until it broke
And all the pieces went up in the smoke
That set it free, and that's when Heaven spoke

Maybe all music
Sounds the best when you
Smoke a giant bowl
Smoke a giant bowl

I feel like when I'm stoned, it makes more sense
Music is sublime and I'm not so dense
I understand it a million times better
It is so grand, it becomes a love letter
It has a multidimensional flavor
And sets your soul free, with thoughts that you savor
When you are baked as Alaska, just listen
It takes the cake, and the melodies glisten

Then We Can Go Last

Then We Can Go Last

 The lyrics are:

This is the next song in the possession album. Timmy, Bobby, and Father O'Malley, after hearing about bad stuff they might've done in past lives, decide to go with the girl to the sun. They, like the girl, are tired of being humans. Being human is dumb.

The hook came from a dream - "we can go last," so I decided to make it about not only the order in which people fly up to the sun, but also the idear of Timmy, Bobby, and Father O'Malley having the me-character's back. Like, they're behind her, and they literally have her back. Man, oh, man. I'm feeling kind of dumb because these lyrics might be a wee bit cryptic.

She can go first because she is in pain
She can go first cuz she forgot her name
She can go first, because her life has turned to shit

Then we can go last, we can go last
Then we can go last, we can go last
Whatever happens, we will be last
She is the first and we will be last

Being a man is ever so bad-scary
And now our plan is something we will carry
Out and we'll follow her up to the sun tonight

We got her back, we got her back
We got her back, we got her back
We got her back, and we can go last

We are feeling like we are broken phones
And we will be free from this flooded home
It's time to take us off life support
We are bleeding out, it's mission abort
Don't cry, we'll not fry, it is a good plan
We'll try, to not die, and we will be tan
In the sun, having fun, we'll not be with man
Day is done, time has run its course, do you understand?

We thought that we were gonna rescue our friend
But now it's clear that something else will happen
Now, it is time to go up to the sun tonight

We got her back, we got her back
We got her back, we got her back
So we'll go last, we can go last
She is the first, and we will be last

I Forgot How To Sing

I Forgot How To Sing

I was trying to re-record some vocals today, but I ended up sounding like ass, so here's a song about singing and sounding like ass.

Here's the alternative player thingy, in case you're interested and all that:
