This is the next song in the series of songs about possession. Like most of my songs, the hook came from a dream. Anyway, in this here little ditty, the me-character is getting more and more taken over by the fire-god. She and the fire-god are fixin' to fly up to the sun, which is his home. The me-character doesn't really care about anything any more, and she's just goin' along with the fire-god's wishes. It's a combination of getting confused about whether she's her or whether she's the fire god, and just bein' too tired of fighting this thing. Like, okay, go ahead and take me to the sun. I don't care.
Different characters sing different parts - I'll go ahead and color-code the lyrics so you know who's singing what. I'll make the me-character red and Timmy, Bobby, and Father O'Malley blue. And I'll make the parts where everyone sings purple.
The lyrics are:
When I'm flying away, I don't care anymoreBut we care and we know
When I'm flying away, I don't care anymore
That fire god stole the show
This might be the end
And we've got to save our friend
The fire god thinks he belongs
When I'm flying away, I don't care anymore
in her, he's getting strong
This might be the end
And we've got to save our friend
With the thing that's inside, up to the sunny-side
We are her friends, and we are getting worried
Is it her end? She seems...in a hurry
Our friend is toast, and now we must confide
Her goose is roasted, cooked on the sunny-side
He wants to take her to the sun
But if he does, she'll be cooked like a bun
When I'm flying away, I don't care anymore
She thinks that she is him
When I'm flying away, I don't care anymore
With flames, her eyes get dim
This might be the end
And we've got to save our friend
