I wanted to do a 4th Christmas song this year, so that I'd have 4 Christmas songs. Then it makes a nice, well-rounded, square-shaped Christmas song cycle.

Here's Christmas Song #3, I guess you could call it. Number 3. A song about how Christmas is sort of kind of a celebration of Jesus's birthday, but not on His actual birthday.

Poor Gloomy Gus; he sure is gloomy. He's thinking about what his epitaph will eventually say, but he can't come up with any ideas. (This is the 4th song in the Gloomy Gus and the Forest That's About to Die album).

I must confess - whoops - I accidentally plagiarized part of a rap from another song o' mine. I didn't realize it till after the fact. Oh well, I guess it's legal if it's your own self that you're copying from.

Post-script: The player at the very bottom is a slightly tweaked version where I got RID OF THE OUT OF TUNE VOCALS - Arrrrrghghghgggghhghgghhghghgh. Maybe I'll looking into some pitch correction devices, ha ha.  As usual the MP4 version of the song has a big, dumb, long pause at the end cuz the MP4 converter online thingy wants to do that for some reason. 

Part of the Theme Song of the Hell: Part 2 Movie

The first part (before the rapping comes in) is gonna be part of the sound track of the movie I'm working on. It's gonna be in 3 parts; the first part o'' the movie is already on YouTube (make sure the player thingy is on high definition if you choose to watch it). Part 2 is still in a bunch of wee, bite-sized installments that I'm eventually gonna put together just like I did for Hell Part 1 and upload onto YouTube (and maybe other places). Anyway, this is a fragment of a song I wrote in 2023; it's a song that's kind of the theme song of Hell: Part 2. Boodles the Poodle is in Hell: Part 2.

It's Just the Way It Is (Gloomy Gus Song #3)

This is song #3 in the Gloomy Gus album. I wasn't expecting to record a song today, but I was washing dishes, and this song came to me. Well, it's more of a variation-on-a-theme-song, I guess you could call it. Jung would hate it cuz he hates polyphonies. Actually, the singing part is more call-and-response-ish, now that I'm thinking of it, so maybe Jung wouldn't hate it. But I think he'd probably hate the part at the end cuz the rapping-over-the-singing stuff has a polyphony-ish flavor to it.

Or maybe the piano melody under the main theme part counts as being a polyphony...maybe so. Maybe Jung would hate this song, after all!!

Gloomy Gus song #2

This is the second song in the album with the working title, "Gloomy Gus and the Forest That's About to Die." Gloomy Gus is busy being all sad and gloomy, when he hears music coming out of (seemingly) nowhere. What is this?????????

I'm posting this a day early cuz I'm having company tomorrow, so I won't be doin' my usual Friday song. Actually, me and said company are gonna work on a song, but it's gonna be a long-term project. Stay tuned for that!

This is an alternative version of the song I wanted to record last week but didn't cuz my voice was all janky. I'm considering starting a new little concept album. This song and another song came to me and said, "Make an album out of us!" So, I might just do it. If that's the case, this might end up being Track #1 of said new concept album.

why my songs sound like shit these days

 

If you follow this music page, you've probably noticed that my voice has been deteriorating over time...basically there's a mystery something or other that's negatively impacting my health and giving my cats health issues too, and it's a bad thing. That, combined with lack o' sleep did a number on my dumb voice this week. Bleh. I think I know what the mystery something-or-other is - well, lemme take that back. I don't know what the mystery something-or-other is, but I know where it came from. And even though I got rid of the thing that contaminated the house, the badness is sticking around. Lots and lots of badness.

The Room I Never Use

This is a song from the point of view of a person with a mystery-room in her house. It relates to Jungian psychology stuff. If I'm remembering correctly, all of us have parts of ourselves that we don't accept, so we push them outta conscious awareness, and they end up in the Shadow, which is almost like this being made up of a conglomeration of parts of us that we don't accept about ourselves. I think I'm getting that right, but I might be wrong about that. Anyway, the room in the song might just signify that shadow complex. I don't know yet.

Now that typepad is dead and gone, I've been trying to figure out how to have more than one audio player on here in case the above one isn't compatible with people's portable electronic devices. I think I found the solution (sort of).
