Link to the Movie I'm Working On

The work-in-progress-o'-the-animated-movie-I'm-working-on is getting further and further buried in this blog, so I'm sticking a link here, so it's easier to find (both for me when I wanna take a look at it and for anyone else who's interested).

Hell Part 2 (Part 3 of Part 2 of Hell)

The page this takes you to has links to earlier parts o' the movie, so you can view what I have so far in its entirety. I have maybe 1 scene to go and the closing credits before it's all ready for me to put together inside video editing software (which will probably be a lengthy process). Alrighty.

People Are Shitty

This song has some truth in it. The mix might be a little rough.

Dog Bark Sound Song

Okay, I decided to flesh out that dog bark song I did the other night cuz I took a liking to it and thought it could be a nice little longer song. There we go.

This one is the same as the above one, but I mastered it, so it's a little bit louder.

Dogs Barking Song

Here's a song that provides a little explanation for why I just posted a big, long loop of dogs barking and stuff.

The Misophonia Adventures Page

Okay, I wonder what my neighbors from hell will throw at me next; but here are some sounds for drowning out obnoxious neighbor sounds. I hope it helps others as much as it helps me. (Although the sounds here might sound worse to people than the sounds I'm trying to cover up; ha ha ha). (See previous entries for more on misophonia).

What Is It?

My dude friend spent the night last night; and we listened to lots of tunes. I woke up with this melody in my head, and I'm not sure if the melody is from one of the tunes we listened to last night or if it's something that my brain made up. So...this song is either a song that I consider to be kind of cool, or else it's a bad cover.

Take Me Away

I had no idea my new horrible neighbors would trigger the PTSD that had gone into remission 5.5 years ago. Sigh. Maybe someday, I'll feel normal again. To all of you out there who have horrible neighbor situations, I hope we all can get some relief.

Noise for drowning out bad neighbors' stereos and screaming kids

This is for people who have bad neighbors who have screaming kids and booming stereos and you wanna drown them out but aren't in the mood for music. (I hope it works).

Microphone Sounds Like Anything In My Life

I have company coming next week, so I'm posting this a week ahead of time and putting it on a timer (today's July 4). See, I have company coming next week, so I might not have time to do a song.

As you can see from previous posts, I live in a neighborhood that has screaming kids in it, and I can't stand that sound - it sounds to me like a thousand nails on a thousand chalkboards all at the same time. Google the term, "misophonia," and you'll know why it's such a problem for me.

So, I recorded this song, and here's the reason why: I'm getting some curtains and window inserts to deaden sounds coming from the outside, which, if combined with white noise machines, might hopefully do the trick to block out the kid-noises. But I'll need one of my friends to stand outside the windows with said window treatments and play high pitched screaming-ish sounding voices on his or her phone. That way, I can figure out how loud to make the noise machines in order to block out kids' screams. That's all a very long-winded way of saying, "this is why I did a song with high pitched whiney vocals." I'm hoping they're close enough in frequency and quality to emulate the screaming kids I'm trying to block out.

I actually came up with the vocals and guitar part of this song a long time ago when me and my boyfriend-at-the-time and one other person were all stoned. I won't say who the other person was cuz I want to respect his confidentiality (even though weed is legal now in California).

Gloomy Gus Last Song of First Part of the Album

I lost count...this is either song 18 or 19 or 20 of Gloomy Gus and the Forest That's About to Die. It is really dark. But then it isn't dark at the end. If you get to the end, you'll see it's not as dark as it at first appeared.

Okay, I redid the very last part part of the song so it sucks less. But I'll leave the sucky version down there just for your enjoyment.

Sucky ending version.

Make America Fucked Up Again

It's my annual I'm-not-celebrating-the-4th-of-July-themed song, which I've been doing since 2022 cuz America is on the fucked up side. My good friend suggested doing a song called, "Make America Fucked Up Again," so that's what I did.

All My Friends Are Far, Far Away From Me

I miss living in a place that has actual friends in it. I have the coolest friends in the world! But they don't live around here. The one friend I had who lived around here died, and that makes me sad.

Alternative Mix With a li'l bit o' rapping at the end:

Hell Is Other People (Fuck My New Fucking Neighbors)

There's an expression: "Hell is other people." That is true. This is a song about my new neighbors; they've only been there 3 days and my head is ready to explode. This isn't a very good song, though, and my singing voice is ass this week.

Gloomy Gus Song 17

It's still gettin' a little dark in Gloomy Gus Land. The owl in the picture doesn't have anything to do with the song. Or does he?????? This is kind of a rough mix.

I fixed some vocals: Sheesh! I was an actual semi-tone off in one part!!!!!! Argh. No, yeah, I'm glad I tried again. Yeah, okay, yeah, yes. I'm glad I tried doing those vocals again. This is a rough mix.

Bonus track (I might add to it tomorrow) Make them go away forever. If you've ever had a bad neighbor situation, you'll be able to relate:

Music For Blocking Out the Sounds of Screaming Kids: Peacocks

My friend and I were at a winery yesterday. It was a winery that had peacocks walking around. They were yelling a lot, and it dawned on me that this could be part of the concept album I've been cooking up in my head - Music for Blocking Out the Sound of Screaming Kids. I hate the sound of screaming kids - it is the worst sound in the world. Would a song with a bunch of peacocks yelling block out the sound of screaming kids if I played it nice and loud on my li'l speaker? We'll see. Anyway, I might make a concept album of songs with annoying, high-pitched sounds engineered to block out the annoying high-pitched sounds of horrible kids.

Here's a version with more (and slightly louder) peacocks because the peacocks peter out a little bit at the end:

Lots and Lots of Cats

I actually recorded this little ditty a few months ago, and I was saving it for a rainy day (i.e., a day where I didn't have time to record a new little ditty). Such a day has come to pass, so here it is. My phone told me I had "lots and lots of cats" in my camera roll, so that inspired this here little number.

Welcome to the Show

This is another depresso song; it's this whole metaphor thing, where, like a bad TV show is a metaphor for life as we know it right now. Oh yeah, there's a part that includes all my cats in it - my current cats and the cats I had before.

After I smoked some weed, I kept on having a teeny tiny bit of rapping that stuck in my craw, so I made it a tiny bit different. Not that anybody else would notice, but yeah, yes, okay, yes.

Bonus Weekend Song (Cuz It's a Long Weekend, and an Idea Popped Into My Head): I am Just a Fox

Here's a bonus track for this week...I'm not sure how this song'll age, but here it is. A person thinks of herself as all soaring and majestic, like an eagle, but she's actually a fox.

Gloomy Gus Song 16 - Time to Say Goodbye

I guess this album is getting a wee little bit dark...don't worry, it gets lighter in time, but not that much lighter.

Here's a version where I messed with one of the bars of rap and added a little to the ending. We'll see how this version ages, versus how the above one ages.

Songs About How Kids Suck

Have I ever mentioned that kids suck? They wouldn't suck so much if their parents weren't moronic asswipes that let them scream like banshees and irritate everyone within a 5 mile radius.

Here's a more polished version of the song...there was a line of rapping that was kind of clunky sounding, which in turn, made it hard to understand, so I polished it up a bit! (It probably has a big, dumb, long pause at the end):
