Here's the backwards version of next week's song. It revisits that theme about fear having purple neon crosswalks (but it's pronounced "crosswark"). I'm not sure if the 2 gentlemen in the picture are freaked out by Fear, or by the reminder to mail in their taxes.

Verdell's Rap

This is a song where Verdell is tellin' Corky that the dude he sees up ahead is his best friend, Mogie, which means that Mogie is dead, just like Verdell and Corky. This is from the early days of my experimenting with weird rap and stuff. Or would a regular person even classify this as rap? Listening to it just now, it made me think of something I might've recorded when I was a little kid.

For anyone new to this blog, the album I'm discussing is based on the movie, Skins. (Spoiler Alert)... It follows this character, Corky Red Tail, into the afterlife cuz he gets murdered in the beginning of the movie. Then he's joined by Mogie and Verdell, who both die of alcoholism in one way or another. The three of them work together to try to get a message to Corky's mom that he's okay in the afterlife. The most likeliest candidate to do that is Rudy, Mogie's brother, because all three of them knew Rudy when they were alive, so they're all connected to him in one way or another.

This is a song of a dude rapping backwards. He's all excited cuz New Year's Eve is at the end of the week. When you hear next week's song, you'll see that when you turn this one around backwards, it's not about New Year's Eve at all.

In this song, Verdell, in the spirit world, is talking to his bestest friend, Mogie, who's still alive. He is tryin' to tell Mogie to vandalize George Washington on Rushmore to make him look sad. Corky's there, too. They both try to get old Mogie on board with their plan.
